5th year

we celebrated foster's 5th year on monday. i kept imagining lots of kids running, laughter, and not a lot of fuss. then pinterest convinced me that there are zillions more ideas i should tackle. thankfully, life convinced me to save the fancy pinterest details for another day, and just let the kids play. i used items i already had laying around the house, and tried to get creative with a pile of cardstock. it was perfect.

foster wanted a tennis party, so my mom (who is the most adorable and amazing tennis coach ever) offered to teach all of his friends how to play. it was awesome. she did such an excellent job and i smiled the whole time watching so many little kids realize they can learn to play such a fun sport. it's one of those life skills that will always come in handy. my mom taught us to play tennis when we were young, and it has become one of our favorite family traditions.

favorite detail #1 - foster face cupcakes :)

favorite detail #2 - individually wrapped pb&j's. they were a big hit.

can you tell he had fun??
and seriously, my mom is the cutest thing i've ever seen!
